Express Entry

What is Express Entry?

Express Entry works as a medium to manage the permanent residence in Canada by the Canadian Government. It has announced some immigration programs to fill the skilled workers or labours positions in Canada. It was launched on January 1, 2015. The economic immigration program is used to select the applicants who satisfy the qualification and required skills. It also has a number of skilled workers in hand who are ready to immigrate.

Express Entry has successfully processed 80% of applicants within 6 months. Express Entry submits the qualified workers’ applications. Based on a score system, the Canadian government sends invitation letter to the successful candidates. This invitation letter grants the status of Permanent Resident of Canada to the qualified applicant as well as their family members who accompany.

How Express Entry works?

The candidates those who are interested to immigrate and work in Canada can apply.  The filled in application should be submitted online to the Express Entry pool. After submission, an assessment named CRS will be followed based on score-board system.

Points-based system

Express Entry uses a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) which is score-based or points-based. It lists the rank of interested competitive candidates for immigration. It is for selecting the best candidates for Canada’s immigration programs.

Replaces ‘first-come first-served system

Express Entry has replaced the previous system ‘first-come first- served’. Express Entry selects the qualified immigrants those who are ready to work and grow economically. It is used to fill the regional labour shortage.

Eligibility Criteria under Express Entry

  • The candidate should be aged in between 20-29.
  • The candidate should satisfy high level of education.
  • The candidate should be proficient in the languages English or French or the both.
  • The candidate should have prior working experience.

Express Entry Draw

Express Entry draw will be conducted once in two weeks by the Canadian government.

A cut-off mark is set and the candidates who score more than the cut-off marks will receive ITA, Invitation To Apply. The candidate can apply for Permanent Resident in Canada.

The candidate has 90 days of time to make their application perfect for permanent residence.

The Invitation to Apply will become invalid if the candidate failed to complete the necessities within 90 days of deadline.

Quebec is similar to Express Entry offering Quebec Selection Certificate (QSC) through Expression of Interest Bank.
